Dear Parents and Scouts,
Welcome to Troop 493’s Website! Scouting is one of the largest and oldest international youth organizations, and is immediately recognized and respected by people around the world. The parents and adult leaders of Troop 493 strongly believe in the character building that comes from following the Scout Oath and Scout Law. We hope you find it easy to navigate, and informative about our troop’s activities. Troop 493 prides itself on offering a fun, yet diversified program, challenging our scouts both physically and mentally, helping to prepare them for life’s joys and trials ahead. We have great depth in our leadership (I have been Scoutmaster since 1977, and our primary Assistant Scoutmaster is one of our former Eagle Scouts), and a proactive committee and senior scout staff to assist in carrying out the program you see offered.
Please visit the various areas you see listed on the left side of the page. You can see who we are, and what we do, review our past and future activities, and contact us for additional information.
If you live in the Great Neck / First Colonial area, come on by any Monday night, 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm (Wycliffe Presbyterian Church, 1445 N. Great Neck Rd. and pay us a visit. We’d be happy to hear from you! You can send me a note at firstname.lastname@example.org.
